Nokia a ouvert pendant quelques heures certains laboratoires de son centre de recherche et développement basé à Espoo en Finlande dans la « Nokia House » accueillant plus de 2000 salariés. Google Maps switches to Tele Atlas For North American Map data

Google Maps switched from NAVTEQ to Tele Atlas for its map data in North America. However, there might be some confusion on this topic. Despite this change, Tele Atlas has not become the unique map data provider to Google. Google did not switch all its map purchasing to Tele Atlas; the Mountain View company continues to rely on many other providers throughout the world: AND, Europa Technologies, Basarsoft (Turkey), MapIT (Australia), Zenrin (Asia), etc.

What went wrong at Magellan?

Beginning of August GPS Business News heard that Magellan’s CEO Nelson Chan might have left the company. Then this news was confirmed from other sources adding that Christian Bubenheim, who was vice president Product Marketing, had left the company too. Clay Babcock, who was Senior Director, Product Planning also left the company earlier in June. more>>

CompeGPS to power new Evadeo crossover PNDs

This fall French mapping Institute IGN is refreshing its line of “Evadeo” crossover PNDs with four new models: Evadeo M20 (€199), M30 (€249), X50 (€399) and X60 (€449). This new range will boast new software developed by Spanish outdoor navigation editor CompeGPS – instead of the software from BCI Navigation found in previous products. more>>
